The Joys of Winter

Our house doesn't have rain gutters. Well, that's not exactly true. We have them, they're just piled in the side yard instead of attached to the roof. So every time it snows, then melts, all the water runs down in the same spot creating man-killing icicles. That one only took 3 days to grow. Fortunately the only thing underneath them is ugly, spiky bushes. So I guess they're plant-killing icicles. Either way, I'd rather not have them. The good news is that the front of our house no longer looks like this. It's been warm and sunny here for quite a few days in a row and nearly all of the snow is gone. (YAY!!!) I love spring! Bring on the green!

It's a Boy!!!

We had our first ultrasound yesterday. We're having a boy. YAY! We're very excited. Especially Ty. He feels very manly after having produced a male offspring. We're naming him Leonidas. (Yes, we actually like that name. We're not going to change it no matter what you say!)

He was very cute and very wiggly. Every time the sonographer held the image still you could see him swimming around. It was adorable. And he's pretty stubborn too. They were trying to get a picture of his heart. As soon as they got the right angle Leo flipped over and refused to flip over again, even after being poked and prodded several (hundred) times. He's cute. (Can you tell I'm a first-time mom?)

Well, as soon as we were done at the doctor's we went on a massive shopping spree. We got a crib set, some cute little booties and a bunch of clothes. We've been waiting for weeks to be able to buy clothes so we went a little crazy. It was fun though.

Any how, that's all for now.
If you want to know who Leonidas is . . .

The Beginning

So, I finally decided to jump on the blogging bandwagon. I figure since our families are so far away and we're going to have a baby I should have a place to keep people posted. So here it is.
I'm scarily pregnant right now. (Don't worry, I'm pushing it out a little!) It turns out that I'm not one of those people who "blooms" when they're creating life. I tend to look wilted more often than not. Such is life, huh?
Ty's hanging out at school a lot. We're ready for this semester to be over. 7 a.m. classes are no good for either of us!
The snow has finally started melting. Just when we think it's going away for sure though, it snows all over again. You gotta love Utah.
Any how, we'll keep you posted.
