Farmers Market

We went to the Farmers Market again on Saturday. (Last week we got rained out and didn't sell anything.) The good news is that we had our first sale. (YAY!) The bad news is that we sat around in the heat for five hours and, after selling only the one thing, ended up with a total revenue of -$4 for the day. (Because the thing we sold was less than the daily reservation fee.) So, fun times. We decided not to go back until it's cooler out.
This boy:
was really good, all things considered. He had a pretty fun time on the playground (which was right across from where we were set up) and even learned how to go down the slide all by himself. (He goes face first. It's the cutest thing I've ever seen and we're currently in the process of getting it on video. Stay tuned!)
This cereal

is shockingly delicious.
We bought it because we're nerds,
and now we're a little sad that it's a limited edition flavor.
Cinnamon Swirl Galaxies = so, so yummy.

More Trouble

I just transferred a bunch of pictures from the camera to the computer and realised that, once again, they were mostly of Leo causing trouble. I am continually amazed by how much havoc this little guy can cause. (And he just looks so cute the entire time he's doing it.)
Here's his black eye at the height of it's glory. I was trying to get a picture of his adorable church outfit and he didn't want me to, so this is the best I could do.

I put this box in front of the TV to keep him from messing with the DVD player. It didn't take him long to figure out how to climb on top of it.

And then he figured out how to get onto the couch from there and the family room has been a constant mess since then.

This made the "trouble maker" list because he's eating my apple. He got it off of the table all by himself and wouldn't let me have it back.

And finally, his favorite: playing with the keyboard.

I started putting Leo up to the table with us instead of off in a corner by himself during meals. I must say, I'm a big fan. I love seeing his little face and arms just poking up over the edge. Plus, he seems to throw less of his food on the floor this way. Not sure why, but I'll take it.

For the past month or so Ty and I have been taking a stained glass class from a local couple. These are our first completed projects (mine's on the left, and Ty's is on the right) and we're quite proud of our work. We'll probably have more to show off in the near future, so be excited.

I feel like I haven't posted in an eternity! A lot has been happening, but it's mostly just day to day stuff.

*Leo gave himself a black eye and I didn't even feel bad for him. (He pulled the computer speaker off the desk and onto his face after I had told him to stop about a dozen times. I kind of felt like he deserved it. I'm a mean mom.)

(And it looked way worse than this the day after.)

*I ended up winning an award for Most Original Recipe and another for Creamiest Chili with a recipe that my sister Tami sent me. (Thanks Tam!) It was really yummy chili too. (How could anything with a pound of cheese not be yummy?) I'll definitely be making it again.

*Leo and I have spent a lot of time at the little pond on the south side of campus. Feeding the ducks is now his favorite thing to do. I have a really cute video of him surrounded by ducks and loving it, but I have to get Ty to put in on the computer before I can post it. (I'm pretty much technologically retarded. I mean, I still write talks and papers on notebook paper before I put them on the computer.) Leo also got to play in the hose one day after we got back because it was hot and he was a little stinky.

He loved it!

*We had a booth at the Provo's Farmer's Market on Saturday. It was our first time and it was pretty much a total failure. We didn't sell a single thing and we ended up getting rained out after just a couple of hours. Hopefully this week goes better. Even if we don't sell anything we're hoping to get our business cards out there.

*Some of my family is going to be here in approximately one week and I'm pretty much peeing my pants with excitement. (I get a little bored hanging out with Leo all day.)

*Father's Day was good. We didn't really do anything special. In fact, Ty made breakfast (because it was Father's Day I let him cook the oatmeal with salt instead of sugar. Sick!) His present was work clothes (boring) but they came with 2 free tickets to see the new Transformers movie (exciting).

*We're going to see the new Transformers movie on Saturday after the Farmer's Market.

*Lastly, I started lifting weights with Ty's cousin Sarah in the mornings. Yesterday was our first day and I almost died. It wasn't that bad while we were doing it, but by the time I got home I couldn't lift my arms up. Showering was a nightmare and I almost cried trying to put deodorant on. It was awesome. My goal is to look like this by this time next year (minus the man parts):

Disgusting!

I Wanna Win

Okay people. We're having a chili cook off this Saturday and I really want to win, but I don't have an award winning chili recipe. Help me out?

Firsts

So it turns out that my last post was (unfortunately) prophetic. Leo has spent the last two days getting into little-boy trouble. Yesterday he had his very first bloody nose after an incident involving his face and the floor. He was incredibly traumatised for about half an hour and he ended up being most upset about me cleaning the blood off of his face. Today he was playing in the bathroom cupboard while I was putting on my make up. All of a sudden I smell mouthwash. I look down and see Leo sitting in a puddle of it, using the lid as a cup. I have no idea how much he drank, but I can definitely smell it on his breath so I got to make my first call to poison control. (FYI, Leo plays in that cupboard all the time, and even plays with the mouthwash, but it's never opened before. I'm guessing it didn't get closed last time we used it.) The lady I talked to was very nice and very reassuring. She took my name and phone number so she could "call me back in an hour." She never called so I'm pretty sure she put me on a CPS watch list or something.

Then, about 20 minutes ago, I'm washing dishes and I look down and Leo is covered in blood and there's blood all over the floor. So I pick him up, check him out and see that it's just a small cut on his finger that just won't quit bleeding. I put a Band Aid on, cleaned up the floor and I still can't figure out what he cut it on. I'm telling ya, I don't know if I'm going to be able to keep up with this boy!

Troublemaker

The other day I went through all of our pictures of Leo. They're organized in folders by month and as I was looking at May's folder I noticed that it was full of pictures of Leo getting into trouble. Doing things like:

Pulling DVDs off the Shelf
(he can reach the middle shelf now) . . .

Flushing and Playing in the Toilet . . .

Falling Asleep in the High Chair During Dinner
(after spending all day screaming and refusing to take a nap) . . .

Eating Lots and Lots of Dirt . . .

Getting into the Fridge . . .

Climbing into the Shower with his Clothes on . . .

and Throwing Tantrums . . .
Lately whenever we go somewhere we get a lot of comments like, "Wow, he's an energetic one." Or, "You're in trouble when he learns how to walk." I always think, "You have no idea."
It's a good thing he's basically the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Change-O-Plan

So we just recently realised that our carefully laid life-plan basically sucks and we had to come up with a new one. (Don't you just love when that happens?) It was a bit stressful and I would have preferred not to have to deal with it, but the new plan involves us (maybe) living in AZ a LOT sooner than expected. That I can deal with.
