Welcome to My Personal Hell

Yeah, that's right. It snowed today. All day. And, of course, we had a whole ton of errands to run so we got to be out in it. All day.

KILL ME NOW!!! I HATE THIS PLACE!!!!

I mean, come on. It's supposed to be spring. And apparently in Utah spring means it snows and suns intermittently, but I think that's a retarded definition of spring.
We went for a jog tonight and we had to do this to Leo:

I mean, that's ridiculous. He's wearing an Eskimo coat just to get from our house to the track. And I so wasn't being a drama queen by putting him in that. It really was that cold.

Yesterday morning I put chili powder on my oatmeal because I thought it was cinnamon. Yeah, it was that kind of day.

Child Abuse?

Leo's sleeping schedule has been a little off lately. (By that I mean that he thinks bed time is nap time so he sleeps for an hour or so and then is up until 1 a.m.) In order to rectify this less-than-pleasant situation we've been denying him his daily naps. The first day wasn't too bad, but after a napless day, a sleepless night and then another napless day he was in pretty bad shape. Every time he held still for more than 10 seconds he was asleep. And every time we woke him up he was absolutely furious. Around 7:45 he just couldn't take it any more. He flopped forward on Ty's lap and he was comatose. I tried to wake him up to feed him and I couldn't even get him to hold his head up. It was pretty funny. He still didn't sleep all night though, the little stinker. Maybe tonight.

Growing

A few days ago I was looking at pictures of Leo when he was first born. I can't believe how much he's changed! Here's a little picture time line for you. (Well, mostly for me, but you can look at it too.) July 2008

I mean, look at the difference here:

What a giant kid!

Tantrum

Lately my son has been even more of a stinker than usual. In particular, he's refusing to sleep in any sort of predictable or rational manner. He won't take naps, or if he does he takes them at odd times, and he's refusing to go to sleep for the night any earlier than 11:30. Now, the other night Ty and I decided that we just didn't want to stay up any later even though Leo wasn't ready to go to bed. So we put him in his crib awake and got into bed. He, of course, started screaming and we let him for a while. Then we brought him into bed with us, left the lights off and ignored him. He just kept on screaming. In fact, he screamed so long and hard that he couldn't even remember why he was screaming and he became absolutely inconsolable, even once we were actually trying to make him happy. So what did we do? We threw a full glass of really cold water right into his screaming face. He proceeded to choke (nearly to death) on it, and then he calmed down and went to sleep. What a maniac! It's a good thing he's cute.

Haircut

While I was down in AZ I decided to whack my hair off. I really wanted to grow it out, but I guess I forgot how much of a pain in the rear long hair is. Plus, my little demon child loved pulling it more than just about anything else. Right after I got it cut I went over and sat down by him on the floor. He just looked at me and started crying and hugging me. It was kind of funny. He does seem really annoyed that he has to work so hard to yank on it now. Any how, it's a little hard to see in this picture, but I didn't care enough to take a better one. Sorry!
